Ashmae and Kathy are the most encouraging teachers and mentors.  I have learned so much about writing, and have produced more than I thought possible, but I’ve also learned much about myself.  Because of this course, I finally feel confident claiming, “I am a writer.”

AshMae & Kathy are gentle guides and their meditative approach works to coax deeply felt stories out into the light. 

Ashmae and Kathy cultivated a beautiful, creative space where we could learn practical skills, explore our voices, and support each other in the process. 

Mine to Tell is more than a title or description. It is permission to value and embrace telling our stories. This has been a transformative experience for me. 

Practical, helpful, and soul searching in all the best ways. I left every single lesson inspired, motivated, and thankful. 

I learned to trust myself and have confidence in the important and subversive nature of telling my stories. That seems like an impossible thing to teach, but Kathy and Ashmae have managed to do it. 

I have looked forward to every single class and have come away inspired to write more, share my writing, and live more gently. I have appreciated so much the peacefulness, passion, and joy that you both bring to every class. I am grateful for your work and would love to join a future course.

I have taken several online writing courses from various places and Mine to Tell has been my favorite. Ashmae and Kathy are amazing instructors and help you beginning to end to pursue an interest in writing in a personal and insightful way. Thanks for helping me continue to be passionate about writing and feeling like my story is important to tell.

I enrolled as a total beginner, never having taken a writing class in my life. Mine to Tell was exactly what I needed, and totally not what I was expecting. The teachers encourage you to write your own story in your own way, and do not dictate style or technique. Their guidance helps steer you, and you are able to look at your writing with a different perspective, and get better as a writer. I have gained a lot from this experience, and if I ever end up writing my book, I already know who to thank for leading me to it! 

I signed up for Mine To Tell with hope that it would help me take my writing, and myself, more seriously. I found exactly that in this class, but also so much more. I am kinder and more generous to myself and my words because of the holy space Kathy and Ashmae create in this course experience. I feel braver when putting words onto pages knowing I have people cheering me on. I have a list of practical tools when I feel stuck to guide me back to my own words, or push me to write better ones. I know more about the industry and the steps to take if/when it is time to start publishing pieces or books. The weekly meetings were interesting and the time passed too quickly, always with helpful prompts and new insights... Writing is indeed work, but it is a privilege to get to do the work alongside these wonderful instructors and the other attendees in the group.

 

There are a lot of voices in the world, and Mine to Tell guided & welcomed me back to my own. 

Ashley and Kathy are kind, thoughtful, prepared instructors. I have two little kids and wasn't able to do the homework every week, and they were always encouraging and accepting of the offering I could give. I learned a lot about being okay with writing the stories I want or need to tell, and I learned a lot about specifics of good writing. Ashley and Kathy did a great job of creating a community of writers and shared beautiful pieces of writing from a variety of authors. I am so grateful for their hard work and time on this class, despite their own busy lives.
